KASPERSKY NEW VERSION UPDATE
I have two product suggestions to make for KSC which would help to alleviate the impact of this:ġ) in the Quick Setup wizard which runs after KSC is deployed, have an option to update the plugins, convert the active policy, and upgrade KSC automatically. It sounds like I am usually expected to update the endpoints myself, but as Tim pointed out, this time they updated on their own (or KSC updated them) without notifying me that some very important action was required on my end. Now that I know what's going on it makes a lot more sense, but when you don't know why or don't even notice it's not a good situation. I feel that having workstations follow the very specific rules of the policy is a little more important than the endpoints being on the newest version of KES.

I can't just wait to find out by noticing that the policy isn't applying any more after my entire network has been autonomous for a week. Yes, an email about this update would be very helpful. Will I always need to manually uninstall and reinstall KSC to get the newest version or can KSC coordinate that itself?Īnyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Will installing a plugin in KSC always be required to manage the newest version of KES? It seems like his should be done automatically with the daily updates. Is there any way to get a notification when this needs to be done again?.

If you could help me with a few other questions I would greatly appreciate it:
KASPERSKY NEW VERSION INSTALL
From there I downloaded the newest version of KES and built a network install package with it, and deployed it to the SP1 workstations so they're under the new policy now. So I ended up exporting the important parts of my old policy and importing them into the new one (and I had to install the SP1 plugin to access the old policy). However, when I reinstalled KSC it added the MR2 policy for me and the autonomous workstations picked it up right away. I am able to access the conversion wizard now.

I installed the plugin for managing MR2 hosts, but still couldn't open the conversion wizard. I backed up and reinstalled KSC using the newest download from here. Patrick, I seem to have gotten this sorted out.
